Of Candles and Memories

She would turn 26 in four hours. Her phone would buzz endlessly, her dog would lick her face. Time, she was running out of. What was the first thing that needed sorting, she tried to figure. She had paid all the bills the previous morning, vaccuming was also done, the tickets were in her handbag, the table was set. The meals! Wait! That could be ordered. She striked the task off the list she had prepared mentally. She was known for her memory power. Yet, she was forgetting something!

It was too late when she remembered.

Like the rest of her body, her memory too was charred beyond recognition.

'Candle' is now a taboo word in the house she once lived.

Listen, intently to snippets of conversation
Clearly, not meant for you, not about you
Half, knowledge is dangerous
Either, include or exclude
