A cry...
Its dark, and I don't want to see your face
But it blares out loud,
Like the chicken in the chefs skewers,
Calling out for help it cries,
Drowning in its own blood.
Hither tither I run
Seeking corners, afraid of my own shadow
Dreading to see a ghost
Of the past, of our past...
“Go away monster! Leave me alone”!
I cry, to hear echoes of silence
I choke on my breath as it gets heavier...
You presence lingers on.
There were days of lush green
When the chrysanthemums and the sunflowers bloomed
In the direction we moved
But then came the dark cloud...
Your presence, lingers on.
I write to face my demon
The one I’ve nurtured for a while
Writhing in pain and agony
Speeding my demise
I beg forgiveness
But its too painful to ask
And so I write, my friend
For the times gone by.
Quest
And its been so long
Since the nib touched the parchment
And words flow
Of their own accord
My muse, my vice
You are my story, my device
I write for you, my love
Yet another verse...
Emotions devoid.
She said this and set foot
On a journey with no route
Divination she aspired
A rendezvous with the stars...
With blisters on her feet she walks on
Pain it seems, she is void of
Numbness seeks her
Antagonism sewed deep
Peace and quiet
The grave beyond beckoning...
Promises, lies! Promises, lies!
If only she could get in...

Just Another Girl
5'2'' tall, slender figure, deep brown skinned (almost the shade of Cadbury Dairy Milk), hair hanging below the shoulder blade. Large eyes with a hint of hazel and extremely long lashes. The perfect nose, not too long or short with small nostrils that do not flair even in anger. Pink lips, like the Americans especially in winter.
Round faced, not plump. Cheekbones are fine and rounded, rather unusual for a person with a round face. A large black mole, almost the size of a 50p coin (only, its uneven and not circular) sits under the left cheekbone.
A thin neck with the neck bone protruding. Shoulders are not too broad and are slim. She carries it high, with confidence. Her hands and fingers are long with golden hair almost camouflaged.
Her torso resembles that of a woman who sweats it out at the gym regularly, sans the abs. She has svelte hips with the capability to carry off a Sari with elegance. Legs are proportionate to her torso, with her calf muscles stiff as that of an athletes.
In all, she is a beautiful young woman, almost perfect, save, the big black mole on her face.

Running to a Standstill
I lay
On the clay covered earth
Darkness consumed
Silence engulfed
Save the calls of the crickets
And the buzz of flies
Voices resounded
Images flashed
Memories grew loud
Tears found their way out
The silent night came alive
With a large strength
From the past
I was no match
Louder. My heart beat
I heard the thumping
Of the heart
Of the music
Of the footsteps
Of nothingness
I wanted to run
It was too beautiful
A mesmerising golden cage
Enchanted. By you
The night was cold
and perfect
Yet, my shoulders were wet
With the weight of my thoughts
On the clay covered earth
Darkness consumed
Silence engulfed
Save the calls of the crickets
And the buzz of flies
Voices resounded
Images flashed
Memories grew loud
Tears found their way out
The silent night came alive

Enchanted. By you
The night was cold
and perfect
Yet, my shoulders were wet
With the weight of my thoughts
My Epiphany
...and then I looked
Above the leaves of the tallest trees
Over the horizon where
The road met the
Depth of the sky
And I saw...
A myriad
A million twinkling lights
High up...
Up above
One, Two, Ten, Thousands
I lost count.
I lost myself
No wheel, no person, no destination
All consummated the stars
You and I
Up above
Dancing on the star lit path
Waltzing from one Centaur
To the next
I saw your eyes
Moist.
So calm...
And your tender touch... I felt
The stars shone brighter
One, Two, Ten, Thousands
And there was music
Beethoven and Mozart
My epiphany.

All in One paige.
Eyes I open with you in mind.
Not one she can call hers
For companionship her heart purrs
Everything. Yet, nothing she has
And then it stops.
It must end... for a new beginning...
Random. Rants.
Not one she can call hers
For companionship her heart purrs
Everything. Yet, nothing she has
And then it stops.
It must end... for a new beginning...
Random. Rants.
Do you remember?
Do you listen when you're spoken to?
Do you really care, like you did?
Or like I thought you did...
A walk on the shore, I missed.
The talk on the phone, I missed.
The flowers..... They never came.
My life, I make.
The smile? I fake.
On the inside, I cringe, I ache.
Is it too much? I ask. Again.
And again.
And again.
It passes. And I smile. Again.
And again.
And again.
Do you listen when you're spoken to?
Do you really care, like you did?
Or like I thought you did...
A walk on the shore, I missed.

Cosmos
She watched the rings of smoke become one with the nature around her. She was one with the universe. The clouds her bed and the sky her blanket.
Beore she knew it, the oxygen had been taken off her face and a white engulfed her body.
She was one with the universe again.
Beore she knew it, the oxygen had been taken off her face and a white engulfed her body.
She was one with the universe again.
So it is
It all seems fine.
The smell of the rain brings hope
The blow of the wind, faith..
in whats not lost
yet never owned
Home I am. Again.

The blow of the wind, faith..

yet never owned
Home I am. Again.

Point Noted
Oh! So now I cannot hold hands with friends in public fearing I'd be married before I could 'register' what was happening.
The concept of moral policing is not new. We have all been exposed to a certain degree of moral policing be it at home, college or in the recent past - clubs and pubs. In fact, I would say we each have a moral police within us - our conscience.
When such is the case, why should people take it upon themselves to make others behave in the manner they deem fit?
My mother has a problem with my wearing noodle strapped clothes. She has not once in the 22 years of my life imposed this 'problem' of hers upon my cousins or friends who have shared a roof with my family. Mum also has a problem with me holding hands with a person of the opposite sex in public. I pointed out to her that I'd rather hold hands in public and proclaim my fondness (platonic or not) for a person than to do so in hiding (the news of which would devastate her). She has not looked at any heterosexual couple with dubious eyes ever since.
A self proclaimed pro-Hindu (apparently) activist, has vociferously heralded that St. Valentine was no martyr but Satan himself. Anyone found tending to the arrow Cupid struck them with, would have to tend to b(l)ows of another sort.
Newton gave us all more than just the laws of motion. He gave us the best lesson we ever needed learning - 'every action has an equal and opposite reaction'. Try as I may, I cannot find a single action or reaction which is EQUAL or OPPOSITE in the mess that we have created for ourselves. I am not game to support the reactions of the opposing side. What I am against, is the fear instilled in me because of such acts.
9th February 2009
I was on my way back from college. It was not over eight and the roads were not deserted. Liking the pleasant touch of wind against my face, I rode at 40 km/h. Half the distance covered, I was basking in the success of the street play I was a part of minutes ago when I heard hooting noises to my right. I did not even think before my heart began to race and a Tata Safari herded with men zipped past me. No sooner had they overtaken me, the hooting stopped and the men retreated their calm and composure. I did not know what to make out of it, especially since a green and orange flag with what looked like a faint imprint of a lotus was hoisted on the bonnet of the car.
Thoughts of owning a gun and flailing it at the goons gushed into my head and I raced home. I did not think much of the event within the four walls of my room and almost forgot the incident.
I now sit back and wonder about the hypothetical possibilities of the event.

Of all the things I said
To you
And all that I should have
When our eyes met
and then again, when you left
Through the intoxicated times
The long walks and rides
There is a lot unsaid
Read.
Pain, it seems, is inevitable
Love, they say, brings in more
Through spoken words
And broken dreams
I continue to be
Yours Truly.
To you
And all that I should have
When our eyes met
and then again, when you left
Through the intoxicated times
The long walks and rides
There is a lot unsaid
Read.
Pain, it seems, is inevitable
Love, they say, brings in more
Through spoken words
And broken dreams
I continue to be
Yours Truly.
Ninasam, Heggodu
Brown.
The look, the smell
The feel
Earth!
Each step
Inching me
To me.
Naked, raw
Whole
Human and flesh
I'm one. Again.
The look, the smell
The feel
Earth!
Each step
Inching me
To me.
Naked, raw
Whole
Human and flesh
I'm one. Again.

From Beyond
"You won't find it here. You're looking in the wrong place". No sooner had she heard these words, the source of the same walked away. She only caught a glimpse of him.
He was tall, wheat-ish and wore a white tee with blue denims. His smile left a deep pit on his cheeks. On the right one at least.
She dreamed of him every night, every waking hour she spent in his thoughts. She visited many a places in hope of finding him. He showed up only to disappear.
Finally, she did the one thing she had vowed never to do.
She prayed for the dreams to end!
Her prayers yielded positive answers. She was diagnosed as a mental patient. Her tormentor was a fragment of her imaginations.
It often happens to Schizophrenic patients her Psychiatrist said.
She cannot be cured. Her mind replays the same film everyday. Its been 18 years, she turned 37 yesterday.
No one has seen her face emote such joy. Such peace. Such serenity. She seemed to have looked in the right place after all.
She smiles even from her grave.

Of Candles and Memories
She would turn 26 in four hours. Her phone would buzz endlessly, her dog would lick her face. Time, she was running out of. What was the first thing that needed sorting, she tried to figure. She had paid all the bills the previous morning, vaccuming was also done, the tickets were in her handbag, the table was set. The meals! Wait! That could be ordered. She striked the task off the list she had prepared mentally. She was known for her memory power. Yet, she was forgetting something!
It was too late when she remembered.
Like the rest of her body, her memory too was charred beyond recognition.
'Candle' is now a taboo word in the house she once lived.

Unsaid
He walked along, little knowing that these would be his last steps
He climbed stairs, smiling, thinking of the minutes gone past
She agreed to be his wife, last night
He got off the phone with his folks abroad
He had only begun to spread his joy
He closed his eyes...
Forever
"I miss waking by your side
Smiling to your waist
Kissing your neck
Inhaling the smell of your hair
I cannot comprehend what has passed
Yet, I stand before your teary eyes
Invisible to you
Don't you hear me
See my face,
Feel my hands on yours?
I have to go now,
My time is past
I love you, even more
And always will...
Baby, don't be afraid
I'll be around no matter what
I'll guard you, protect you
I'll love you despite all else
Do not be shattered
You are beautiful, a princess
Another will love you all the same
He will care for you, I'll ensure
I love you, even more
And always will..."
